On October 20, 2026, the governing board of the Saugus Union School District honored all 14 of our elementary schools for being recognized as 2026 America’s healthiest schools. All 14 schools were recognized as all stars for at least the second year in a row.
Since 2007, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, supported by Kaiser Permanent and Kohl’s Cares, has recognized schools for implementing best practices in any of nine areas, with all-stars schools being recognized for meeting criteria across all nine topic areas. These areas are: school health services, local school wellness policy, nutrition and food access, physical education and activity, health education, social-emotional health and learning, tobacco-free schools, staff well-being, and family and community engagement. This year, the alliance recognized 1,376 school in 35 states and Washington, D.C. with 200 schools earning all-star status. The Saugus Union School District is proud to have all of our schools recognized as all-stars schools for multiple years. Congratulations!
