United States Constitution and Citizenship Day - September 17
Beginning in May 1787, 55 delegates met at the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, and on September 17, 1787, 39 delegates signed and submitted to the states for ratification the document that is a standard for the democracy of the United States of America: the United States Constitution.

At the governing board meeting on August 29, 2023, Kimberly Humphries, principal at Bridgeport Elementary School, was honored as the recipient of the Dr. Joan Lucid Leadership and Service Award.

At the governing board meeting on September 19, 2023, one student from each school site was recognized for receiving the Resilience Brilliance Award.
SUSD Hosts Frank Discussion on Bullying, Language
Saugus Union School District Superintendent Dr. Colleen Hawkins shared a series of earnest conversations she had with local fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students in a board presentation that drew praise from board members who appreciated the dialogue they considered important.

Together, the 15 elementary schools that comprise our district provide a safe, empowering learning environment for over 10,000 prekindergarten through sixth-grade students in the Santa Clarita Valley in Northern Los Angeles County, California.

Welcome to the Saugus Union School District. We aim to provide the best educational setting for your family’s children and are proud to be able to cultivate their talents and abilities while preparing them for the future experiences they will encounter in adulthood. SUSD excels in teaching subjects and shaping character through involved and caring teachers who know the potential of your bright children.
You will find with great delight that our schools are equipped to meet your expectations and our students’ educational needs. With 15 elementary schools throughout the district, our students are surrounded daily by a positive community of student colleagues and qualified and exceptional teachers. Every student’s educational and personal success is our goal and expectation. We accomplish great things when we work together.
