Governing Board Vacancy
To the Saugus Union School District Community -
Trustee member Cassandra Love recently provided her resignation, creating a vacancy in Trustee Area 1 of the Governing Board.
The Trustee vacancy will be filled by board appointment. Beginning September 22, 2023, and ending on October 13, 2023, the board will be accepting applications to fill this position. Please go to the district website to access the electronic application or use this Trustee Application link.
Thereafter, at a board meeting on October 23, 2023, or October 24, 2023, the board will meet in an open session public meeting at 5:30 p.m. at 24930 Avenue Stanford, Santa Clarita, CA 91355, to review all applications and to interview the applicants. Applicants should make themselves available for this meeting. The board’s appointment of the applicant to fill this position will take place at such meeting after discussion.
We will accept applications electronically from September 22 to October 13, 2023. To be considered as an applicant, we must receive the application in the District Office by 4:00 p.m. on October 13, 2023. We will not accept any application received after 4:00 p.m. on October 13, 2023. The district will not be responsible for applications delivered/submitted late.
The superintendent is required to hold an orientation for all eligible candidates to share information regarding school programs, district operations, and board member responsibilities. We have scheduled the candidate orientation for October 18, 2023, at 6:00 p.m. in the Saugus Union School District Board Room at 24930 Avenue Stanford, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.
