Carter G. Woodson is known as the “Father of Black History.” He was born on December 19, 1875, in New Canton, Virginia to formerly enslaved parents.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day – January 27, 2026
The United Nations General Assembly has designated January 27, 2026, as International Holocaust Remembrance Day as it is the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camps in 1945.
