National First Responders Day – October 28

In 2017, the United States Congress passed a resolution designating October 28 as “National First Responders Day,” recognizing the heroic men and women who make it their business to take immediate action when disaster strikes. First responders include professional and volunteer fire, police, emergency medical technician, and paramedic workers in the United States, The recent increase in the frequency and magnitude of natural disasters, such as fires, floods, blizzards, tornadoes, and hurricanes have required first responders to show up in unprecedented force and sometimes tragically pay the ultimate price in the line of duty. We honor these men and women and thank them for their service.
