The Santa Clarita Valley Consortium Induction Program is the pathway for teachers with General Education (multiple or single subject) credentials and/or Education Specialist credentials to earn their Clear Credentials. The Santa Clarita Valley Induction Program provides on-going support and training for eligible teachers
Teachers holding a Preliminary General Education or Education Specialist Credential and a full time teaching position are eligible to participate in the Induction Program. California Induction Program is the name of the program sponsored by the state of California by which preliminary credential holders demonstrate efficacy and earn their clear single subject credential. GENERAL & SPECIAL EDUCATION
The Santa Clarita Valley Consortium has a State Accredited Induction program which serves both General and Special Education teachers.
Teachers who hold both a preliminary General Education and Education Specialist credential can clear both credentials in two years of Induction.
INDUCTION PROGRAM COMPONENTS
Experienced teachers apply and are selected by each site administrator to be trained and serve as mentors and coaches for Induction Candidates throughout the program.
Standards and Research Based
The California Standards for the Teaching Profession (CSTP), the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), and the State Induction Program standards are the foundation for support activities and training.
A series of inquiry based self-assessment and support activities which guide growth for Induction Candidates to demonstrate competency in all CSTP's.
Professional Development and Collaboration
Induction Candidates and Mentors have a variety of opportunities for collaboration with peers, professional development, and training in inquiry-based processes.
